The Association is located in Masaka district, 30 Km from Masaka town, covering the whole of Kyanamukaaka Sub County, 10 km off Masaka - Kyotera Road, after Bukunda trading center.
It is a newly formed association. The whole beginning of the association started early 2008 from an agreement between NUCAFE's business manager Mr. Hassan Kakooza and former chairman Mr Mbalangu, this latter talking to key persons he knew in the various parishes of the sub county. Kyanamukaaka currently has 13 groups, 2 groups of youth, 3 women headed groups and a Drama group.
The youth groups, whom were actively pioneered by the young man Kabiito James, have made a difference encouraging fellow youth to engage in coffee farming, especially those who were solely engaged in the Boda-boda riding business. The quality and quantity of coffee coming from these groups is really excellent and has increased greatly over time. Kitofali Coffee Farmers Group had a genial idea - they started a drama group to help spreading the education about gender equity in coffee farm households, through edutainment. Farmers, which initially believed that there was no issue to be solved in the households, saw what was going on through the play, realized the challenge and went ahead to address it.
In order to improve the quality, the association has identified some farmers and provided them with quality seed of different coffee varieties so to demonstrate to fellow farmers how a coffee garden should be properly managed. This led to improved coffee management and to the adoption of good agricultural practices, in the coffee - banana system.
